In this game, the player controls the character of a bounty hunter, Samus Aran, and has to investigate a space ship that is filled with infected organisms. These organisms are infected with a virion known as X-parasites that target the central nervous system.
This game is set in an open-ended world where elevators connect the regions. Each region contains rooms that are separated by doors and Samus can shoot the door to open it or has to wait to reach a certain level before accessing the door.
You have to solve a lot of puzzles, obtain power-ups, and defeat enemies to progress in the game. And the game has several new features as well such as climbing ladders and grabbing ledges.
