In this game, the player races in a kart against the other players in different courses. The player can look for their current standing in a race, the number of laps needed to finish, and incoming weapons on the screen during the game. The players can collect various items and boxes to receive a randomly selected item and use them against other players to sabotage their game and lead the race. Items like shells and banana peels help to hit the players to slow them down.
The game also featured coins that help to increase the engine power of the karts. The game features a multiplayer mode where the player has to finish in the top four to move on to the next race and the player with the highest points wins. The game offers different speeds to choose from, which also determines the difficulty level of the game.
The different game modes of Mario kart- super circuit are as follows:
In this mode, the player has to compete against seven karts in a predetermined course. Once the player completes the course all the positions of the player get locked in and they are given points based on these positions, ranging from zero to nine. If the player gets fifth rank or worse than that, he gets rank out and the race gets replayed again until the player gets a better rank. If the player ranks out three times, he loses the game.
Time trial mode:
Time trial mode is a single-player mode. In this mode, the player has to finish any one of the forty courses in the fastest time possible. Every character in this mode has a Triple Mushroom that can be used any time during the race.
In this mode, the players can choose any course from the 40 courses available. The player can also customize the rules like changing the item frequency or the number of laps in each race.
This is a multi-player mode where up to 4 players can play the game by using a single control.
In this mode, the player has to battle against the characters controlled by other players using items scattered throughout the arena. In this mode, there are games like the balloon-popping battle game where the player uses an item to pop the opponent’s three balloons while defending their own.
