Golden Sun: The Lost Age is a video game released in 2002 for the Game Boy Advance that was developed by Camelot Software Planning and published by Nintendo. The role-playing game is the sequel to the golden sun and the second instalment in the Golden Sun series.

Golden Sun 2: The Lost Age starts with a prologue that summarizes the events of the prequel golden sun game that explains the players all the major points. The player plays the role of Jenna in the game where at the beginning of the game Alex tells Jenna and Kraden to go to Saturos and Menardi’s boat. The trio regroups at Idejima following which Venus Lighthouse is lit because of which the tremors create a rift in the mountain range that causes Idejima to drift into the ocean. A tidal wave strikes at Jenna and Kraden and Idejima is sent crashing into the continent of Indra. Felix, Jenna, Sheba, and Kraden then go on a search to find Alex.
At the start of the game, the player can control 4 characters: Felix, his younger sister Jenna, Sheba, and Kraden for a short period. The children were taken hostage by Felix who was forced by his masters Saturos and Menardi. The player controls Felix in the game who has to complete his master’s objective which was to restore the Alchemy to the world of Weyard.

The game’s layout consists of dungeons, caves, puzzles to keep players entertained. The players must complete certain objectives to complete the puzzles and move forward. To advance the story, the player must compete with random monsters and win the battles. One can defeat enemies using direct attacks with weapons or using magic spells causing damage to the monsters. One can even use the magic spell to keep his monster alive and for raising the stats.
- The Djinn system:
This is one of the most important features of the golden sun game. Players must collect the elemental creatures called Djinn and manipulate them to win. Djinn helps the characters to dictate their Psynergy (magic) capabilities. To modify the characters’ class, Psynergy points one must locate a djinn. There are many Djinns that you can find throughout the game.
- Encyclopedia system:
Golden sun 2: The Lost Age featured an encyclopedia system that was specially designed for the players to be aware of the history of the world including information about the previous games and to explain the plot happening in the present. The game also highlights specific texts using the hyperlinks while the characters talk and if the player taps on the text the page from the encyclopedia opens up on the upper screen that provides details that may help the players.
