The story resides in a far-away galactic planet, Phantorian. Initially, the planet gets hit by five meteors causing a fortress to freeze in the ground. To consolidate the people, professor Ein sent out Max to investigate the fort. Inside the fortress, Max is pulled towards darkness by a perplexing creature. To solve the mystery of the fortress, rescue Max from darkness and save the planet, Professor Ein called out Bomberman.
The player controls the Bomberman in the fighting pit. The game proceeds with four fighters and the last one to survive, win the game. You need to plan bomb attacks to trap the enemies. After some levels, the pit gets filled with powerups and boosters, which increase the strength and stamina of the Bomberman. The score is calculated based on the timing, technique and style used during battle. The game was praised due to its simple yet captivating interface and storyline.
