Blaster Master is a run-style, action video game developed by Sunsoft for the Nintendo Entertainment Systems (NES) in 1988. The game is first-person combat between various radioactive mutators and the protagonist. However, the euphonic soundtrack, pixelated graphics and sophisticated mechanics are the main features of the game. The game is critically acclaimed and considered to be a robust version on NES.

The protagonist, Jason, is the playable character in the game. Firstly, one day, Jason’s pet frog Fred toppled down from the bowl and moved inside a hole in the backyard to the deeper earth. And then, he finds a chest there and developed into a giant toad. After that, the player, Jason, runs behind his frog and reaches the interior of the planet where he finds a larger tank. Sophie the third, used it to kill radioactive mutants inside the hole.
In other words, the objective of the game is to rescue Fred and defeat the radioactive boss, Plutonium. The game consists of eight different levels and two modes. However, the player can either choose to be the pilot of the tank and shoot the enemies in a scrolling platform mode or choose to walk and shoot the enemies with his gun, jump and other ground attacks in a top-down view mode. Similarly, some special weapons are collected along with the game and, they can be used as powerups.
